The Microlux/DL exam is painless, non-invasive, and takes less than three minutes.

It is a fiber-optic illuminator de¬signed to enhance dental examination. The Microlux unit uses an LED light and a tip for use as an adjunct to aid in detecting abnormal tissue conditions; and one mirror tip to provide additional light during routine exams. The Microlux provides a focused beam of cool white light to aid in clinical diagnosis. Because of the intensity of the LED light and the small tip, it is easy to locate any potential problems in the earliest stages of development.

The Odyssey® Diode Laser from Ivoclar Vivadent, Inc.

Represents the latest diode laser technology available for soft tissue modification and preventive care. The laser also promotes healing for infected and irritated tissues. Since there is a favorable response to laser treatment, the resultant healing is less complicated and often shorter when compared to traditional techniques. In many cases, the laser can also be used to treat deep gingival pockets that harbor bacteria and cause gum disease. An additional benefit of dental diode laser technology is its ability to reduce the pain and longevity of cold sores and fever blisters.
